While teaching Grade 12 Biology as a credit to a class of adult learners, a particularly difficult section on pulmonary/circulatory systems was being tested. As a bonus question, I asked, “Why does a worm not have high blood pressure and heart attacks?” As a last resort, one student answered, “…because they don’t have teenagers, bills, and a mortgage to try and pay”. Further along in the test, Esther gave the correct answer.
