World Teachers’ Day Celebrating Ontario teachers and Education Workers

World Teachers Day on October 5th is a celebration of the efforts and successes of teachers and educational workers across the world and here in Ontario, stated Rhonda Kimberley-Young, President of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation. The consistent quality and excellence of public education is due to their dedication.”

World Teachers Day, which is sponsored by Education International and UNESCO, is celebrated in over 100 countries around the world. The theme of this yearsday is “Quality Teachers for Quality Education” with a sub theme: Training for a Stronger Teaching Force!

“It is our teachers and educational workers who ensure that Ontario’s students receive a quality education which prepares them for life in the 21st century,” added Kimberley-Young. World Teachers Day is an opportunity for everyone to reflect on the role of educators in our society and to recommit to quality public education in Ontario.
