The course provides a number of workshops in areas specific to school leadership such as school safety, discipline, parental involvement, staffing, curriculum development and implementation, diversity, data-driven school management, site-based management and legal issues. The participants are also learning first-hand about Ontario’s education system by visiting several schools in the Greater Toronto Area, as well as the Ontario College of
Teachers and the Ministry of Education.
Education Leadership Canada has developed and previously delivered a similar program to 40 other principals from Kuwait and 60 principals from Sri Lanka. Participants have noted how beneficial the course was to them when they returned to their home schools.
