Ontario Prinicipal’s Council Wins International Magazine Award

The OPC Register, the professional magazine for Ontario’s public school principals and vice-principals, has won two prestigious “Tabbie Awards” from Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI).

The Tabbies is an annual, international editorial and design competition for magazines catering to trades, associations and businesses. This year, almost 700 entries from around the world were submitted in 18 categories. The OPC Register received Honorable Mention awards in two categories:

– Best Feature Article for “The Student Success Program,” Vol. 6 No. 4, December 2004.
– Best Front Cover Illustration for “Bridging the Gap,” Vol. 6 No. 1, March 2004

“These awards reflect the high quality of the magazine that we have developed for Ontario’s public school leaders,” said Doug Acton, President of the Ontario Principals’ Council. “It is an honour to be recognized by the international media community for our ongoing efforts to provide professional supports for principals and vice-principals.”

TABPI endeavours to bring together editors of English-language publications worldwide and encourages design and editorial excellence through the Tabbie Awards. More information and a complete listing of Tabbie winners may be found at www.tabpi.org.
