My Granny Got Her Carburetor Out! by Margie Morrissey

Each morning we have our prayers before singing O Canada. Following our formal prayer for grade 2, we have prayer “petitions”. One little grade 2 student nearly always asks for prayers for someone. One morning she said she wanted to ask God to help her Ganga because she was in the “hopital and had her carburator out”. Well, we got through it, but I was really glad there wasn’t another adult there – and that it’s only grade two so no one else caught the play on words. I think little KateLyn realized I thought it was funny because the following morning we prayed for her Ganga because she had found out it was her “galla badder” which had come out.
