I am a Teacher of the Deaf at a school in Toronto. I became a Teacher because I enjoy learning. It is in the classroom environment where I feel most comfortable. Nourishing young minds, advancing their knowledge, and increasing students’ self-esteems has been a priority for me as a learner and a Teacher. I became a Teacher of the Deaf because I myself am hard of hearing. I grew up knowing how important my teachers were to my life. They helped me to realize my potential, set goals and achieve. It is the Teacher who goes beyond the call of duty who makes a difference in the lives of their students. I strive to accomplish that with my students.

As a person who grew up in the age of computers, I know first hand how important computers, software and information are to our daily lives. Having information available is incredibly important to our jobs. As a Teacher of the Deaf, I know how little information is available to my field of education. In helping to create a medium to make free information readily available to teachers all over Canada, I hope to widen the possibilities.
