Celebrate Great Teaching – Nominate a Teacher for Special Recognition

my mom s new boyfriend dvd If you know a great teacher who inspires students to reach for the stars, a teacher who is an innovator or a teacher who is a leader of other teachers, you should nominate that teacher for the OTIP Teaching Awards.
The Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF) and the Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP), joint sponsors of the OTIP Teaching Awards, are pleased to open nominations for the 2006 OTIP Awards.
OTF President Marilies Rettig said today, “Teachers everywhere in Ontario are doing a great job, and the OTIP Awards give us the opportunity to celebrate the work of our outstanding colleagues. We are delighted that, thanks to the support and generosity of OTIP, we are now in our third year for the OTIP Awards.”
The OTIP Awards nominations are open to anyone who would like to nominate an excellent teacher in Ontario’s publicly funded schools. The process is a simple online format. Criteria and nomination forms are found at www.teachingawards.ca.
The deadline for nominations is March 27, 2006. The winners will be announced on October 5, 2006, World Teachers’ Day.
“One of the highlights of this award program,” continued Rettig, “is that there is a special category for teachers in their first five years of practice. We see this as a way to encourage our beginning teachers.”
“OTIP is proud to be a part of this special program and have the opportunity to recognize and celebrate teaching excellence in Ontario,” concluded Randy McGlynn, OTIP Chief Executive Officer.
