School Cuts Pending - Funding Needs to Be Revised!

The Campaign for Public Education, community advocates and organizations (representing immigrants, refugees and racialized communities) are calling on the Provincial Government to restore adequate funding to schools and prevent cuts to valued educational programs in Toronto.
Of particular concern are school board budget shortfalls which could close school pools, cut parenting centre staff, educational assistants, lunchroom supervisors, and reduce Continuing Education and nutrition programs.
The province still does not pay the full cost of teacher salaries, utilities and maintenance at the Toronto District School Board. The ongoing funding crisis has contributed to the failure to provide vital ESL support to all students who need it, and threatens a range of programs that immigrants, refugees and marginalized students need to succeed.
