First-ever contemporary Remembrance Days music video donated to Canadian schools by recording artist Shawn Hlookoff.

Vancouver, British Columbia - Canadian born Singer-Songwriter, Shawn Hlookoff, has written and produced a moving music video dedicated our Canadian Service Members. In addition, he is offering free downloads of this video to Canadian schools from coast to coast as a Remembrance Day tribute and learning tool.

Entitled "Soldier", the video is a tribute to Canadian Forces Personnel who selflessly answer this countries call of duty and highlights the sacrifice our service members and their families willingly make to protect Canadian freedoms. The song and video walk that fine line, neither commenting on whether a war is right or wrong, if the politics should be left or right, but squarely tackles the issues of Service Members stepping into a role that many of us would not.

As a result of hundreds of ongoing requests from educators across the country, Hlookoff has donated unlimited free downloads of his "Soldier" video and usage of this contemporary tribute to all schools and military institutes in Canada. The downloads can be accessed at www.CanadaRemembered.com or at www.hlookoff.com

Thea McMahen, of the Canadian War Museum, heard of the song "Soldier" through the chatter on the web. She contacted Hlookoff and asked if the song could be linked to their upcoming Remembrance Day school tools initiative to be launched on-line mid-October. Hlookoff was more than happy to be part of the War Museums educational initiative and granted permission.

This "staggeringly beautiful" tribute to the Canadian Forces first surfaced on the net around 6 months ago. Initially release only as a single, "Soldier" was quickly recruited to be part of Canada's first-ever Adopt-A-Soldier campaign launched by Married to the Canadian Forces. www.MarriedToTheCanadianForces.com

Shawn Hlookoff, Bare Naked Ladies, Canadian corporations, politicians and citizen sponsors have all generously donated to the inaugural Adopt-A-Soldier sending 3700 care packages to deployed service men and women over the holidays.

Vancouver recording artist Shawn Hlookoff had written a song "Soldier" which was found by Adopt-a-Soldier, through the buzz on the Internet. "Soldier is a beautiful tribute to the Canadian forces member stationed overseas and their families left behind. The song has made a tremendous impact among the Canadian Forces families left behind," states Adopt-A-Soldier spokesperson, Rachel Lambert. Hlookoff quickly donated 3700 CDs.

After the first two major acts, Hlookoff and BNL came on board other artists and corporations quickly made donations. The 3700 care packages will be gifts from home sent to every Canadian Forces Personnel stationed overseas this Christmas and will include a Christmas greeting from the Prime Minister.
