The FSCT Award

The Canadian Teacher is proud to partner with the Federation of Science and Canadian Teachers (FSCT) to recognize outstanding educational websites. This award highlights free or accessible teaching resources that serve educators across Canada. Whether you’ve developed an interactive lesson library, assessment tools, professional development content, or specialized subject resources, we want to bring your work to the attention of educators who need it.

Our award program connects educators with the best teaching tools available online. Recipients gain visibility within the Canadian teaching community and are featured on The Canadian Teacher’s curated educational resource directory. This is genuine recognition from a trusted source—your peers in education.

Submission Guidelines

Submitting your website is straightforward. We ask that you provide information about your resource, including its focus area, target grade level or subject matter, and how educators use it in their practice. We review all submissions within two weeks and provide feedback to applicants.

Your website should be live and actively maintained. We prioritize resources that:

• Support Canadian educational standards and curricula
• Offer genuine value to classroom teachers
• Demonstrate professional design and usability
• Remain accessible and up-to-date

Please note that The Canadian Teacher maintains editorial independence. We may not feature every submission, but we take every one seriously and consider its value to our educator community.

What We Look For

We recognize websites that solve real problems for teachers. This might be assessment and rubric builders that save planning time, interactive content for specific subjects, professional development materials, or innovative tools that engage students. We look for resources that reflect quality teaching pedagogy and respect for educators’ time.

We also consider sustainability and reliability. Resources that disappear after a few months don’t serve our community. We want to recommend websites that will be there next year and beyond.
